The instructions say to add
scramble obfuscate 'password'
To the Client and Server config files. NordVPN have presumably added it to their server. Have you tried adding that to the VPN client Additional Config?

Are you for real? There is no port forwarding there. Where it says 'server' you put in the address (and port) of a server. This is where you list the server, sometimes servers, at your VPN provider that you want to connect to. You probably only need one. You will be given the server information from NordVPN. Some locations may have only one server, some may have several. A 'remote' line should look something like this:
remote nord-server-1 1194
The ”Scramble” line is an optional parameter that most people do not use unless they are in China or similar restrictive countries where the government blocks internet traffic to VPNs. “Scramble” disguises packets going to the VPN so they can evade detection. If you want to use the Scramble option, replace the word 'password' in the conf file line with the password supplied by NordVPN. Or you can delete the line or comment it out with a hash symbol (#) if you do not want to use Scramble or if NordVPN dis not supply you with a Scramble password
If you can't figure it out now, perhaps you should pull up stumps.

Yes, it's real, I used this ovpn profile could connect Nord by Tunnelblick or Android App. I download the xor_ovpn profile from the Nord. And use them can connect by Tunnelblick on MacOS or Android App.
Maybe I should try to use one port forward command to test your method that is adding scramble obfuscate 'password' on Additional config.. (yes, I have the profile so I have the obfs password.)
