Hi.
last weekend I sucessfully added a USB to a WRT3200ACM router.
Today I have been unable to access the drives contents.
I`ve gone into DDWRT file sharing, and /mnt/sda1 [unavailable] is in the drop down list.
I`m assuming it cant read the drive?
On trying to look into the network drives, I get You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator..........The file is currently not available for use on the computer.
Had it all working last weekend.
Totally confused.

I am not.
My crystal ball tells me you are using NTFS as file system and you did things like disconnecting the drive, used it on another client, rebooted the router, powered the router off and on etc.
Your crystal ball is amazing.
I`m new to all of this.
Had some internet speed issues with the router.
Restart fixes these problems. Did not know if I had to do anything with the drive.

No, connect the drive to a windows PC run chkdsk and it should be fine then you can connect it again to the router and it should work again.
Usually you will not have lost any data.
Problem is Linux (so also DDWRT) nowadays uses a new industry strength NTFS driver (from Paragon) which flags a drive dirty if not properly unmounted.
Thank you for your help.
Ive got the drive to show up, by changing its drive letter.
Plugged it back into the router, and everything is back.
Not lost anything.
I`ll heed your advice, and back up the drive and change the file system as you suggested.
Many thanks
Ive had to power down, and retstart the router this morning, as getting 2mbs speed.
After that, speed back up, but lost my drive again.
I`m backing it up now, and converting it to ext4.
