Router/Version: Linksys WRT1900ACS v2
File: ddwrt-linksys-wrt1900acsv2-webflash.bin
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r49741 std (08/15/22) (prev. DD-WRT v3.0-r49677 std (08/10/22))
Kernel: Linux 4.9.325 #3364 SMP Mon Aug 15 01:39:34 +07 2022 armv7l
Mode: Gateway, SFE enabled, Wifi disabled, Wireguard for external access, WAN to DSL, samba to access USB3-ext4 SSD, Keep Alive reboot 5:00 in the morning
Reset: No
Status: One minor notice: Usually I prefer to update partition one (ubootenv set boot_part 2). This was due to the fact, that on partition two is my fallback partion to compare things between releases.
But I wasn't able to set boot_part 2 anymore, it kept erroring out with checksum missmatch.
Only possible way to solve this was to flash this release on both partitions. Now the command does not error out anymore.
Load average 0.00, 0.00, 0.00, Temperatures CPU 80.3 °C / WL0 53.6 °C / WL1 55.3 °C

The UI isn't designed for mobile browsers and never was, responsive designs are a long way away still, the best you can get is using the desktop site.

Router/Version: WRT1900AC v1
File/Kernel: DD-WRT v3.0-r49741 std (08/15/22)
Previous/Reset: r49677 std / No reset this time
Mode/Status: Gateway (SFE enabled), Access Point, IPV6 via Hurricane, Entware, DOT via Stubby, OpenVPN server, Wireguard Server, Privoxy
Issues/Errors: Has been up for three days. Only minor issue is that when I make any changes on the Wireless Basic or Wireless Security tabs and click Apply, the router stops routing packets to the internet. A reboot is required to bring back functionality. I noted this a while back and it seems to be a quirk of this model, as I didn't see it on a similarly configured Netgear R7800 (I know that one is Atheros, not Marvell). I don't make changes on the wireless settings very often, so I hadn't thought to report it before.

Router/Version: WRT3200ACM
File/Kernel: DD-WRT v3.0-r49741 std (08/15/22)/Linux 4.9.325 #3364 SMP Mon Aug 15 01:39:34 +07 2022 armv7l
Previous/Reset: r44715 std / No reset upgrade w/ SSH partition switch
Mode/Status: 5Ghz Access Point, 2.4Ghz disabled
Issues/Errors: Has been up for 6 hours reliably. VHT160 seems to be missing from channel width options but I tested 500d/700u speeds in 5Ghz AP, AC only, VHT80, DFS56, UL+2. DFS56 has much longer range than other channels. Also TX power seems capped at 24db according to system status even though requesting 30db in advanced options. Advanced options unchecks itself after navigating away from wireless settings

Yes, advanced settings will uncheck itself when you navigate away from the page. Known behavior. TX power is set by regulatory domain information and can no longer be overridden. VHT160 may not be supported - is there a VHT80+80 option? I haven't looked at Marvell specifics in a hot minute since the 3200 still in house runs Divested OpenWRT and I don't have 5GHz enabled on any former test units that are currently deployed providing public wifi in mixed client environments. Most of those client venues do not have the required bandwidth to even consider enabling the 5GHz band considering the amount of possible wireless clients involved.

Ah I see about the advanced checkbox. No there is no 80+80Mhz options. in previous build I saw VHT160 when in AC only and I believe channels 36-48. However it seems in VHT80 I'm getting 160mhz speeds anyway, so I'm not sure...

Umm... Huston we have a problem.

Linksys wrt1900ac v1

So on Thursday, my internet suddenly stopped. I don't recall doing anything at the time, and had the 8/3 firmware had been installed and working for several days. The WAN port showed as UP, but the modem was not receiving a wan IP address from the modem. I tried a factory reset without result. Thinking the wan port had died, I ordered a replacement modem. That made no difference, so in desperation I reinstalled the Linksys stock firmware, and life was good. The wan port worked just fine.

I then tried reinstalling the factory-ddwrt firmware 8/15 and once again I had no WAN. I somehow have ddwrt on both boot environments so I had to reinstall the factory img once again to get internet access back. I have not tried returning to an earlier version of the firmware yet.

Any troubleshooting will have to be done off line. BTW anyone know how to switch boot environments in the linksys firmware? There is no telnet or ssh option it seems.

VHT160 is crap - it's not worth wasting your time with it

1. you need VHT160 capable clients
2. the possible VHT160 channels depend on the Regulatory Domain.
3. the WRT3200ACM has a region lock - even if the regulatory domain allows 160Mhz channels it does not mean that the WLAN chipset supports it (the chipset has an EEPROM and own power tables)
4. the use of VHT160 limits the possible interference free channels enormously (in the whole 5Ghz spectrum only 2 interference free 160Mhz channels are possible but 6 80Mhz channels)
5. VHT80 4x4 allows the same data rate as VHT160 2x2
6. a measured throughput of ~650Mbit is not a 160Mhz speed
This is about the maximum throughput that can be achieved with VHT80 2x2.

That may have been a bad flash, download, or image too large.
Each time you update firmware an alternate partition is flashed.
There is no reason to try and fight against this pattern, 1 2 1 2.

Linksys WebUI: See Troubleshooting, Diagnostics then Restore Previous Firmware.
DD-WRT WebUI: Factory Defaults or nvram erase && reboot no need for stock FW.
Without needed ISP details power cycle the modem or perform a reset procedure.

I see, also I meant 650 Mbps internet throughput which was the speed I would get with factory firmware when HT160 was enabled, VHT80 would give me nearly half that speedtest. The network speed is 1300mbps on both DDWRT and factory firmware which is still not VHT160 speeds (needs to be 1.73Gbps on my devices). My devices all are 160mhz capable with intel 9260 chipset. 9260 supports only contiguous 160 MHz channel width configuration and not 2 separated non-contiguous 80 MHz (or 80 + 80 MHz).

^according to Linksys HT160 should work on channels 36-128 with AC only.

https://www.linksys.com/support-article?articleNum=208661

So yes it may be that this device was never really HT160 capable and it's a bad case of false advertisement, as I have never been capable of transmitting AC3200 standard speeds with 160Mhz capable devices.

Just as a comparison here is wifiinfoview of my ISP AP (Bell router) and WRT3200ACM (WiFi8517_G). The Bell wifi is capable of transmitting 160mhz to my AC9260 chipset (1.73Gbps). I could never get the Linksys to do that.

And which regulatory domain have you set?
Is VHT160 only unavailable with your domain or also with others?

Try to set Germany as regulatory domain.

Sorry forgot to mention domain was Canada, I just upgraded to r49792 and tried Germany as well and HT160 is still missing.
