The sticker on the bottom my router is freaking useless to tell me what revision it is, I don't know which dd-wrt to flash to it, or if I even can!
Can someone help me with this? Sorry, I'm completely new to this whole thing.
d-link router control page NOT DD-WRT CONTROL PAGE.PNG
Description:
The router control page, the a-hole that sold me on this ebay had said it was dd-wrt, it is clearly NOT. I don't know if this page helps you find anything out, but here goes.
Keep in mind that if flashing from D-Link stock firmware does not work due to encryption lock-out, you will need to flash the router via Emergency Room. This will require an older version of Firefox Portable.

I attempted to install DD-WRT on it via the built in firmware flasher/updater option in the router's menus.
Specifically, I flashed it with the initial flash, the filename is pretty much self-explanatory right there after all.
This caused it to endlessly reboot itself.
So I held reset for 30 seconds, and then went to the IP. This gave me "D-Link Router Recovery Mode"
This meant it had installed, but something borked up. I figured that's why the second BIN was there, so I tried flashing that to it, but now it just gets stuck at this endless "waiting for" screen where it's trying to upload or trying to get a response, i don't know which.
Oh and I just tried the firefox thing.
That's also stuck on that.
What precisely do I do? I assume this recovery mode is the emergency room you're talking about.
But every browser I've tried sticks in that cycle. Including the portable one.
Edit: I solved that problem, and got a worse one. Now when I try to use the emergency room to flash the other BIN file, I get a red text saying "Upgrade failed !"
Edit 2: Okay, so the factory-to-ddwrt BIN actually freaking uploads IN the emergency room.
This just messes up the router again, and I need to hold the reset button again.
And then I tried the other BIN, and I still keep getting the upgrade failed message.
The file in the thread posted above may be the one you need for initial flash, since obviously the current release image is too big or has an issue. From that point, you will need to test flashing the dir615i1-firmware.bin from the current release via DD-WRT webUI or CLI to see if it also has an issue that needs to be addressed. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

Thank you TONS, it works now.
Is there any way to turn it into a wireless-to-lan bridge? (ie: it connects to wifi, and outputs that to LAN)
