I tend to avoid nvram erase and if I see some features I use don't work properly in the new version I'll go back and do an nvram erase (very rare). Some experts who follow the code changes would know better if big changes in NVRAM variables have happened since September.
Read the new build thread for your router platform and make sure most people are happy with the build number you plan to install.

In an effort to simplify/clear stickies and keep things organized I have moved this thread to contributions upload. I have approached in the past the author and discussed this may happen in future, and this is that time.
Other considerations to where this topic best subforum fit suggestions can be discussed, for that feel free to contact me or egc via PM.

Actually this is what you said:

Anyway, no worries if the thread moves, I didn't do it =)
Sticky or not makes no difference in a buried/dead board where the first page still has threads that are over six years old.

Yes I said it back then and for transparency I announced it here in public to the fact.
The page however has many threads from 2022/2021/2020 at the top not including stickies, to say its dead and buried is not accurate, the compile TEE module thread Sep 04, 2021 received 10247 views in less than a year, so people look around, if you compare that your thread is from 2019 and has 52572 views, the traffic and visibility holds up.
But if you have a place more adequate feel free to suggest it, at another time when things are less cluttered we can revisit where the location and status of thread is.
Added the ability for easyddup to check for upgrades and update itself if necessary as has been requested by a few users. The existing script checknewversion.sh takes care of this. Note that forum attachments are only available to logged in users. The checknewversion.ini file has three new keywords to enable this. See checknewversion.ini.sample
The upgrades are logged in checknewversion.log and a notification email is sent if configured correctly. Recently google said: "from May 30, 2022, Google no longer supports the use of third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign in to your Google Account using only your username and password" so you probably need to use a different email provider for sending.
Since checknewversion.sh is often run as a cron job I have tested that the easyddup update works as a cron job.
Yes I'll still announce new versions of easyddup in this thread. Not everyone uses checknewversion.sh and even if they do, EASYDDUPSELFUPDATE=N will completely avoid self updates.
If someone wants to test the update feature, just install the new version manually as before and modify your checknewversion.ini as decsribed above. Finally edit VERSION.txt from 0.9.1 back to 0.9 to trick easyddup into thinking it's outdated and run checknewversion.sh.
Would be good to know it works in an environment other than mine. In order to avoid overwriting a running script, a temporary script is generated on the fly which installs and then runs the new version which then cleans up temporary files so it's not as trivial as it seems.

Right, I went back and just shamelessly search for keywords.
Yea, cant blame you for not wanting the responsibility and hassle of maintaining something like this, but only makes it harder for contributors to improve it.
But the reverse of that edge cuts equally deep, you end up being the only maintainer cause on average its difficult to get contributors and contributions anyway.
Already have a private repo to use this for possible UI integration. Or rather, have had one for a while. I was going to comment before yoyoma2 replied, but didn't want to get scolded. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

Just like YAMon piggy backs on the dd-wrt web server for its UI:
DD-WRT/user/index.html
someone skilled with web UIs could easily create a web interface for easyddup (or new name).
DD-WRT/user/easyddup/index.html
I already use this for some other local thing I have.
DD-WRT/user/myOtherThing/index.html
Beginners would feel more comfortable using a web interface for upgrades/downgrades than the command-line interface (if they can get through the installation). I offered earlier for anyone to own/host this asking only for an invitation as a contributor.
