I have run DD-WRT on devices in the past, but don't currently have one running.

Now I have a situation at a new job where they have been using a wireless access point that supported jumbo frames for wireless (2290 bytes), but they've been unable to get them with any regularity. Is there a way to set the wireless MTU under DD-WRT for a device that will not be connecting to the internet proper?

Thanks for your help.

I think an unbridged interface will let you set MTU via the GUI.

I was trying to find another link I've posted before about this. Frame size in wifi depends on security protocol and encryption, doesn't it?

Thanks for your help.

I emailed info@dd-wrt.com to inquire about DD-WRT professional and/or to get a definitive answer.

Just because you will not be on the internet doesn't mean you can't connect to the internet initially. With that said the minimum requirement for large frames is tagging size mtu. Your interfaces don't have to be large mtu sizes.
