For the past several years, my access to internet was limited to my cellphone hotspot. To work with that, I had set up my Netgear R7000 as a bridged repeater to the phone hotspot.
Now I have 'normal'/ ISP access to internet, so I need to reconfigure to a normal router behind the cable modem (Spectrum -previously "Charter.net").
I had tried to edit my configuration to normal, but without success {It had been several years since I had gotten that bridged repeater configuration working.}
I then factory reset, and still no success.

Any simple steps I can take to get my router just being router behind the cable feed, I will greatly appreciate any help.

Use the latest build 49626.

See the forum guidelines with helpful pointers about how to research your router, where and what firmware to download, where and how to post and many other helpful tips:

After upgrading reset to defaults.

Connect the WAN/internet port of the R7000 to LAN of the ISP router/modem

The R7000 can be reached at http://192.168.1.1

You should have internet right out of the box, if not change the Local IP on Setup page from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1
