I also have a box full of old WRT54Gv7s that I'm in the process of repurposing. Apparently,
there is some confusion on status of support since they are Atheros and it is thought that
the underlying stock firmware is VxWorks, yet there are images on the download server(s).
More on that at a later time. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

Router/Version: Netgear R7800
File: dd-wrt-webupgrade.bin
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r49531 std (07/20/22) (prev. DD-WRT v3.0-r49492 std (07/14/22))
Kernel: Linux 4.9.323 #1071 SMP Wed Jul 20 04:22:02 +07 2022 armv7l
Mode: Gateway, SFE disabled, 2.4G and 5G wifi, Wireguard for external access, WAN to 4G (DHCP Client), Keep Alive reboot 6:02 in the morning
Reset: No
Status: Installed yesterday, one hiccup:
After update & automatic reboot I wasn't able to access any device other than the device IP in my LAN. Tried the same whilst connected to its wireguard server --> the same fault.
WWW access was working.
Only tested with wireless --> my LAN.
No fancy network here, just 192.168.1.x/24 and 192.168.91.x/24 (wireguard).
Rebooted again, all problems gone.
* I did have strange issues at first with clients disconnecting occasionally despite having strong signal but this seems to be resolved when switching to US-specific firmware. Initially I used the international version of the firmware (the one not tagged -US). My router doesn't specify US on its label, but I bought it in the US so I tried the US-specific firmware instead and so far the issue with dropped clients appears to be resolved. I'll update this if the issue returns.
