default username for telnet/ssh is always root
if you are asking for your GUI username...and you already set one and forgot it, no way to retrieve it..
On reset, when you connect the GUI for first time, its asking to set username and password...there is no default username or password on those...
Some routers have default (baked) wi-fi password, you can see those on the router sticker, otherwise connect via wire and set your passwords...instead...
if you have ssh or telnet enabled, and you know your password but not your username that you set already...you can connect via tlenet or ssh ....using root/your password and set a new GUI username and password....via ssh command:
setuserpasswd root admin1
you can replace root with your new username and replace password with password you want to set...or leave it like that and access GUI with username root and password admin1 and than change both via GUI... _________________ Atheros

You could try to recover just using the known email account and leaving username empty, if that doesn't work, make a new account, if the username + email already matches it will fail and then you'll know both. Make sense?

Consider this or this. Why don't we just go ahead and discuss the problem here in the forum in depth and see if it warrants a report on Trac? We have enough baseless, unwarranted, invalid reports on there to begin with. Pretty sure this has to do with migrating from Broadcom to Atheros and not having a clue how to migrate the settings properly.
Entering your email address will enable you to reset your password if you ever forget it.
The cup of coffee was a joke. But its good to know you rely on healthy practices perhaps not so healthy when all things considered. meeeeaooow ffff, grrrrr

Well, my overall point is, there is no follow-up on current tickets under "Frakko" or "Frakkonew" and quite honestly, Trac tickets don't get looked at unless someone contacts BrainSlayer, anyway. The ticket about https webUI access is invalid, it's a self-signed certificate, you make an exception and move forward. If you're using the right browser and mode, it doesn't save the certificate or exception, anyway (and shouldn't). Anyway, more cruft to sweep into the trash bin or ignore unnecessarily IMHO. But freedom to create tickets and posts is what people want. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"
