Just be aware that upgrading within DD-WRT webUI or CLI may not work as you are already aware. I've flashed today's release (49289) via webUI from 49268 via webUI without a hitch. Still testing some things out before reporting in the build thread.

Thanks a lot, @dale_gribble39. I'll be following your comments in the build thread before trying to update since, as I mentioned before, at the moment it's my only device and I can't take any chances.

EDIT:
From what I could see in your post on the build r49268 thread, you are doing this test, in part, as a result of my inquiry. And I thank you twice, @dale_gribble39. I really appreciate that.

I've flashed today's release (49326) via webUI from 49289 via webUI without a hitch. For the hardware specs, wired and wifi performance is as expected (without VPN). It's no speed demon, but it gits'r'done. I plan to let this one sit'n'soak for a good minute as I continue testing features.

Decided to go ahead and flash 49361 as I didn't find any unexpected issues with 49326 over the course of 3 days. Holding back because of perceived "stability issues" doesn't help fix anything.

Since this is a popular thread I will chime in, although I know I will get in trouble. I had (3) WR1043ND ver2s working in a WDS setup. One suffered a hardware failure. The other 2 became problematic during the 46 and 47000 builds and when I bricked one I rolled them both back to r44715 (yes, 1 & 1/2yr. old) now. I swapped one out and still use one on r44715 as a Station today. The ea8500 AP is always on the newest build. The 1043nd never reboots and is very stable and due to other improvements is faster today than ever. Normally I would never recommend an older build but, hey, its an old router.

Was on 49392 and just flashed 49418 to continue shakin' the dust off. No noticeable issues given the hardware specs. I think people seem to have unrealistic expectations and mark it off as "instability".

You're welcome. I'd rather proof-test current releases so that the developer(s)
can focus on addressing issues than focus on myths and folklore.

Have had r49544 running for at least 12 hours without issues. Combination of testing
features and all the webUI finesses thanks to the-joker. Folklore be damned!

I am currently on New Build - 10/13/2022 - r50500. The only obvious bug at the moment applies to the VPN page. If you experience router unavailability within ~5 days, my only suggestion is to use the keepalive page to do a scheduled reboot once a week; but I would recommend some kind of fan to pull air through the router case to avoid the RealTek switch heat issue.
