My router is a Linksys wrt1900ac v1 and I recently upgraded my cable internet service from 200mbps to 400mbps. My wired devices easily surpassed both of these standards. My wireless speeds standing close to the router (iphone 12 pro max) were about 60mbps on the 2.4 and about 100mbps on the 5 before the upgrade. After the upgrade, I'm getting about 90mbps on the 2.4 and about 130mbps on the 5. I was expecting a more significant improvement. I currently have dd-wrt on both partitions. I was considering flashing stock firmware to see if that made a difference but thought I'd post some queries here first:

1. Are my speed expectations reasonable?
2. Any dd-wrt settings I should focus on and possibly tweak?
3. Does reverting to stock make any sense?
4. Any other thoughts or ideas?

Thanks for any help and I apologize if this is the wrong forum.

This is a really REALLY old build. You should considering upgrading to the latest release.

+1 for upgrading to current release since there were a ton of things fixed related to wifi since that build.

You will need to do a hard reset after upgrading both partitions (nvram erase && reboot via telnet/ssh) and configure from scratch. Would be a good idea to save each config page as a PDF / (m)html file so reconfiguring to current settings will be easier with your notes.

Thanks lexridge and kernel-panic69. I have upgraded to the latest firmware. No change in speeds yet. I will try the hard reset later when I have some time.

The low throughput will also be mainly due to your WLAN settings.

Common 5Ghz hardware already manages a bit more than 100Mbit.

I went ahead and flashed stock firmware and am now getting about 360mbps on the 5 and about 250mbps on the 2.4. Don't know what I did to mess up my dd-wrt but I guess I wasn't really part of the target market for open source.

IDK what to tell you, you failed to provide setup screenshots of your dd-wrt setup, which is a must to try troubleshoot setups dont's, then you as far as I can tell failed to provide details of your dd-wrt version and setup and if you reset to default after upgrading from a 11 year old unsupported build to begin with and then upgrading to latest dd-wrt... So good luck, enjoy your stock firmware filled with security issues by default which will never be fixed.

I have a WRT3200ACM on recent build of DD-WRT, Arris CM8200A cable modem, and basic Comcast Xfinity "Blast!" $100/mo. Internet package. I have no trouble getting 600Mbps+ on all of my devices, wired and wireless, that support that speed. And there's plenty of people on here who get much faster. It's impossible for us to troubleshoot all the possible permutations of issues on your personal setup. Hardware, software, move closer to router, antennas, interference, settings, or a million other things. But I'd start by updating to a newer version of firmware. Good luck!
