Firstly, I own an Asus RT-AC5300 router running DD-WRT v3.0-r48362 std (02/15/22).
I am having an issue where I am randomly unable to reach anything on the Internet. After a reboot of the router, this issue is fixed.
I briefly tried to debug the issue using traceroute.
Here is the output when I am unable to reach things where IP is the WAN IP displayed in the dd-wrt interface:
Code:
root@DD-WRT:~# traceroute 1.1.1.1
traceroute to 1.1.1.1 (1.1.1.1), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets
1 IP (IP) 1240.736 ms !H 1000.625 ms !H 2999.497 ms !H
Then, after a reboot, the output is shown as this:
Code:
root@DD-WRT:~# traceroute 1.1.1.1
traceroute to 1.1.1.1 (1.1.1.1), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets
1 96.120.69.33 (96.120.69.33) 8.682 ms 10.202 ms 17.511 ms
2 96.108.57.49 (96.108.57.49) 12.417 ms 8.448 ms 17.594 ms
3 162.151.113.73 (162.151.113.73) 11.557 ms 14.029 ms 13.294 ms
4 76.96.121.242 (76.96.121.242) 13.355 ms 21.787 ms 12.567 ms
5 one.one.one.one (1.1.1.1) 14.646 ms 23.677 ms 11.116 ms
I am not great with networking so I am hoping someone has had a similar issue or may know what is going wrong.

Hello, thanks for the report.
You are running an outdated and unsupported build, so any issues you are reporting are invalid until you are running the latest build and see if the issues are gone or still present.
DD-WRT is constantly being improved, patched and updated with newer drivers, kernels, libraries and components, all of these either fix bugs, patch known security vulnerabilities, so older firmware's are no longer relevant, unless they can be shown to be faulty.

Are you still using "Auto" in Wireless->Basic Settings->wl0->Wireless Channel?
Try changing the wireless channel? Just pick a different one.
Not sure if you were talking about the wired WAN connection...

I've had a lot of random internet drops. I was seeing it with my Streaming devices and with wifi enabled phone use. I fixed mine by setting the SFE to SFE (not CTF)...and changing the Flow Acceleration to Disable.
