The username for ssh/telnet is root. If you can access via those, do a hard reset (nvram erase && reboot) and then go from there. I have a feeling your double flash or a hardware failure might be culprit. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

the problem is, I can not access via ssh as for this we first need to start/enable ssh service (I have seen this option when i was able to access dd-wrt router UI for some time i.e for some time when i have flashed the firmware but after that it started giving problem ) but now as you know UI just hangs if i click on any tab so currently accessing via this way, doesn't look possible.
I don't think luck is with me. I am trying telent connection through putty, it is asking for username, password after taking 5 mins, I am entering root and entering password but it is not working (I don't remember the password that I have set, but I have tried 2,3 passwords but no luck)

Replace your damaged router or nmrpflash it back to stock and then re-flash only the factory-to-ddwrt.img file from the current release and don't double-tap it with the webflash file. If it doesn't work as you expect after configuring to use another port as WAN, then it's done and you need to replace it or set it up as a WAP.
You will need to use swconfig utility to reconfigure the switch. Will need output of swconfig list and swconfig dev switch0 show to proceed, most likely. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

From my experience with this router I have been unable to flash it with my windows machine. NMRPFlash simply doesn't catch the router at boot. However from my raspberry pi running ubuntu or kali I am able to use NMRPFlash.
I have to be plugged into the LAN1 port (port right next to the WAN port), and have all other RJ45 plugs disconnected.
I hope this helps someone somehow. Perhaps WSL would resolve the issue I had on Windows? I did have winpcap and wireshark and all those goodies on my windows machine but NOTHING would flash the router back to stock except my linux raspberry pi 4
