Why do mesh wifi routers have such stupid names?

Why do mesh network systems (and tech in general) have such stupid names?

"Orbi", "Deco", "Eero", "google", "velop", "tenda nova", "nest".

Does this work with consumers? Maybe dd-wrt should change it's name to "Weedoodoo" or "Poopoodee".
