Hi Guys
I see that this router is now supported - I have tried everything to install DD WRT. I get a firmware update failed please check your file. I am using the IMG files from here:

netgear-wndr3700v5/ 23-Mar-2022 00:54
https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2022/03-23

The netgear firmware is Router Firmware Version
V1.1.0.54_1.0.1

Any suggestions would be very welcome!

THANKS

Try a .img from an earlier build which is smaller e.g. from the first build when it was supported 45820

You could try TFTP or nmrpflash to flash the factory-to-ddwrt.img file.

Hi

Thanks for the advice, I have tried Tfpt and also NMRPFLASH but with no luck. The 3700 v5 is just not taking the upload - although it appears to connect. Might anybody else have updated the Netgear 3700 v5 to DD WRT and can offer advice?

Many Thanks

William

@wbartam My experience with nmrpflash on R7000, was not bricked only wanted to understand the process.
Success was with -t 10000 -T 10000, allowing 10 seconds for NMRP packets and 10000 seconds after upload.

Loosened timing values are directly from nmrpflash readme files. r48607 wndr3700v5 factory-to-ddwrt.img
OpenWrt wiki says WNDR3700v5 can be used with nmrpflash as long as the boot loader is still intact YMMV.
