To make a long story short I need to revert back to the original Linksys Firmware on my E2000. Every time I try to do this it fails. I have tried 30/30/30 before and after but dd-wrt refuses to leave my router.
I have been researching and trying things all weekend and am exhausted from this. Any help?
Thanks,
Bophed.
This did not work. I tried from IE9, Firefox, and Safari. Cleared all caches, re-downloaded the Linksys Firmware to be sure I have the correct version. Did the 30/30/30 reset before and 10 minutes after the upgrade. DD-wrt still refuses to leave my router.
I tried to telnet into the router and then
cd to tmp folder.
wget http://homedownloads.cisco.com/downloads/firmware/FW_E2000_1.0.04.007_US_20101201_code.bin
then
write FW_E2000_1.0.04.007_US_20101201_code.bin linux
and got these errors.
root@DD-WRT:/tmp# write FW_E2000_1.0.04.007_US_20101201_code.bin linux
function stop_pppoeserver not found
function stop_freeradius not found
FW_E2000_1.0.04.007_US_20101201_code.bin: Bad trx header
Revert without the Headers on the stock firmware being modded is likely to lead to a brick.
Since mine was half dead due to bad ports i figured i experiment before having it replaced.
I did eventually get the flash take but could no longer get into the router no matter what was done.
This is not true of the e2000. All the OP needs to do is flash the trailed version from the wiki (14929) and he will be able to flash back to oem from there.
What kind of dd-wrt firmware is on the router now, a build with nv60 in the filename or the older type with e2k_e3k in the filename? _________________ Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
I don't know if I have bad luck or if it just isn't possible to revert back to the linksys / cisco firmware through the GUI.
Which method you used?
Scroll down on that link until you see "Recovering with TFTP"
Yup that's right. Where it says "Note that if you already have DD-WRT installed and working, and you are on this page because you want to revert to the router firmware, you need to break DD-WRT first!"
You really have to break it first.
And I used Linux to push the file using tftp.
Windows7 is damn near impossible to use for this situation.

Sorry for reviving a long-dead thread, but I found this thread because I was having the same problems reverting a linksys E2000 back to stock. I was running this firmware:
v24-33215_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-e2000
and whenever I tried "upgrading" back to the stock linksys firmware, nothing happened. DD-WRT stayed on the router.
