My netgear R7000 is on "DD-WRT v3.0-r37305 std (10/10/1Cool." I've been trying to update to this build
https://dd-wrt.com/support/router-database/?model=R7000_v1

I've also tried flashing back to stock firmware found here (current version and initial release) https://www.netgear.com/support/product/r7000.aspx#download
Honestly, at this point, I'm happy I haven't bricked it. I've tried doing a 30/30/30, then I read I shouldn't do that on an ARM device so I tried running the command
Code:
nvram erase && reboot

I think my next step is to try flashing with TFTP but I've never done that before and want to make sure I don't end up with a brick.[/url]

You should not use the router database

See the forum guidelines with helpful pointers about how to research your router, where and what firmware to download, where and how to post and many other helpful tips:

Point 12c about what browsers to use, FireFox in incognito mode also usually works

I've found the most recent build and using Firefox worked. Can't believe I wasted hours without trying a different browser.

Thanks.
