While using the http interface to configure the router, it frequently freezes when changing tabs. Router reboot required to get it working.
- Netgear R9000
- release 47618, also tried the last available Kong build, same behavior.
Another question, why are the LEDs not showing any activity?
Thanks!

Can't recall any of my 4 9000's hanging like that and currently on 48138.

Using only Wan and 10Gb port so no blinking here.

Build 48138 might be better, but Chrome/Chromium browser do not always play nice.

Also some extension might play tricks.

See the forum guidelines with helpful pointers about how to research your router, where and what firmware to download, where and how to post and many other helpful tips:

Often a simple Refresh CTRL+F5 helps

Below is from any recent build thread, see the portable link for a list of browsers. New Build - 01/17/2022 - r48138

Clear history or use a portable. Temporary cache bypass: Ctrl+F5, Cmd+Shift+R or new private window/incognito.

This is indeed a user-induced issue; First rule of thumb is to *NOT* access DD-WRT interface with the same browser you are surfing the 'net with, especially if you have plugins, extensions, or addons installed in your browser. Second rule of thumb is private or incognito browsing mode. Third rule of thumb is to run a recent build with working wifi access to webUI disabled option in place. Most of the Chromium-based browser issues are fixed in more recent builds, but extensions, plugins, and addons still wreak havoc on the webUI; so does intermingling your browsing.

Thanks all for your help. The suggestions didn't exactly help (details below) but what puzzles me most is that the same dd-wrt version on different hardware is fine. I would think since this is firmware, the browser interface would have the same browser interaction on different devices. Yet the problem is present on Netgear R7800 and R9000, in all firmware versions that I have tried from the last 3 years (Kong, BS, etc). The same firmware versions work fine on Linksys WRT3200ACM, Netgear WNR2000 v2, TP-Link Archer C7 and others.

What hasn't helped: using Firefox, using private windows, clearing the cache, CTRL-F5, refreshing, not browsing the web at the same time. It works a little better in Chrome, but certain tabs crash there too.
Thanks!

Have you disabled tcp_tw_reuse & tcp_tw_recycle in admin->sysctl?

Telnet or SSH command line methods:

nvram show | grep tcp_tw

nvram set net.ipv4.tcp_tw_recycle=0
nvram set net.ipv4.tcp_tw_reuse=0
reboot

Flash r48432. nvram erase && reboot
