Difficult to answer.
The R9000 seems to have some hardware design flaw.
The radios tend to die on this router, and there is speculation that it is a temperature problem.
Normally, under normal conditions, the QCA9984 radios are thermally resistant.
The radios are used in many routers and are also available as mini-PCIe cards - under full load they easily reach 80°C (with active cooling).
There are documented cases where for the industrial version 9994 130°C were measured -- without damage.

theoretically with a proper hardware design 40°C for the radios is not worth mentioning

QCA9994 Environmental Temperature (Industrial Grade) Operating: -40°C to 85°C

QCA9984 Environmental Temperature Operating: -20°C to 70°C

I believe this does not define the in-chip temperature
