Firstly i would like to wish you all a very Merry Xmas and good wishes :) Secondly, im a little stuck on this usb sharing. Basicvally have two computers and i want them tohave access to a folder that just has programs on like winrar, graphic drivers and such. So when i format the pc, i dont have to run around looking for usb sticks or dvds, i can just go to a file with it all on. I have stuck a USB stick router and im using WinSCP to access it. Problem is if i remove the usb stick and put in back in, what ever was on it is not showing up. Any ideas? Also is there a better or easier way to share a folder. Thx guys, once again, all the best :)

You did not state router model and build number.
Both SMB and NTFS has seen some fixes lately.
But NTFS still is picky if the stick is removed while the router is running it can flag the partition as dirty (and then you have to run chkdsk from a windows station).
This is all new to me. I have an r7800 with the latest 47911 firmware installed. I have heard people mention samba and stuff like that but never had a reason to use it, until now. Im using WinScp to gain access to the usb stick, which is 32gb sandisk 3.0. Maybe samba might give me better access to the usb ?
Just tried to format the usb drive again as ext2 and it did indeed do it, but when i try to write files to it, the router crashes and i cant get access to the dd-wrt gui unless i reboot. Surely there has to be an easier way to share files. Maybe go back to stock and use READYSHARE, which would be a shame because m using dd-wrt to improve my user experience, but sadly some features are missing.
Yep, it crashed when it was NTFS. So now i have made it Fat32, it all seems ok. Does that matter if its fat 32 ? I seem to have fully access to it now and all seems well. Would it work / transfer data better if it was ext2 ?
