The nvram variable has been inverted. Or rather the logic in the function. 1 is enabled, 0 is disabled. Which is backwards. I just flashed 47900 alpha, and it's enabled by default, but probably because I had been checking to see if it worked without the webUI feature.

47900 nightly on the R9000 had it disabled by default...

I sent BS a PM about it and hopefully the default will become enabled on future builds...

Otherwise we're going to see lots of TLDR posts about it coming our way...

Hmm. It was enabled by default on my TL-WR1043NDv2 and TL-WA901NDv2, but I think I had been testing to see if it worked via nvram manipulation with setting the var by ifname to 1 which was "disabled" on Broadcom in the past.

So you have converted your routers OS to DD-WRT in this hypothetical scenario using your Samsung/iPhone mobile device?

And completely missed the pin hole reset button on the pretty much all home routers.

Interesting, lets play hypothetical! Devil's advocate says.

This hypothetical household is very likely a crypto mining botnet, or is infected with banking trojans, or malicious apps going after the crypto wallets, because this is what malicious actors are interested in, it's a fact just go read security news.

Malicious actors don't care about Mr. average Joes porn folders, this is true! so your porn stash is safe!!

So in this hypothetical, webif via wireless access being disabled is a smart move.

I particularly like how one can actually grab WiFi networks credentials directly via the bluetooth chip.

Take care now. Wink

Do I understand correctly that in future builds I will have to connect via cable to enable access to WebUi?

My EA8500 had default disabled setting due to r47874 or r47893, because I did not nvram erase after r47900.

Ethernet WebUI setting workaround I described is temporary, for those previously upgraded and did not reset.

I tftp put r47900 to R7800, default setting is enabled for wireless WebUI access. All is well r47900, great build!

In openwrt, it is always disable for security I guess, and it seems ok for the community, just saying
my problem was not about that in that thread, finaly it was about dnscrypt-proxy2......
