Welcome to Broadcom r47853 beta release thread for reporting, feedback to developers & community benefit.
Please do not flash builds until installation is understood, risks involved and device specificrecovery methods.
Avoid discussions, create threads for questions, general problems or use search; this thread is not for support.
Please list router model & revision, operating & wireless mode(s) and exact filename/firmware image flashed.
Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
• WebUI: Clear history or use a portable. Temporary cache bypass: Ctrl+F5, Cmd+Shift+R or new private window/incognito.
• DNScrypt 1.95 can still be used in WebUIbut v2 (not compatible) requires Golang and thus Entware. See Trac ticket #6246.
• WDS does not work on Broadcom ARM devices (only MIPS<->MIPS) & bridge modes on k4.4 devices may sometimes work
in some configurations for certain builds but are not supported by the bcmdhd driver. Try client or repeater modes, but YMMV.
•VAPs not working at bootare fixed, both unbridged (r40634) and bridged (r47822). Please test, removestartup commands.
• If startup scripts do not work from USB add delay (wait script), sleep 25 or try Administration -> Commands -> Save USB.
• Broadcom ARM devices if 5 GHz channels are missingvia Telnet/SSH: 'nvram set brcm_unlock=1' 'nvram commit' 'reboot'.
• Please report findings with steps needed to reproduce, configuration, clients, output, logs and important information below!
Important:
• For issues provide applicable info: 'dmesg' 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages', syslog klog, serial, strace, tcpdump, wireshark etc.
• Any firewall NAT or WAN issues, show output: 'iptables -vnL' 'iptables -t nat -vnL' 'iptables -t mangle -vnL' and /tmp/.ipt file.
• Gremlins: reset & configure manually, not restore a backup. Reboot. Search Trac & discuss in forum before opening tickets.
• Please include operating & wireless modes (e.g. Gateway, Router, AP, CB, WDS, Mesh) & relevant configuration information.

Router Model: Linksys EA6900 (XVortex CFE)
Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r47853M Community Build (12/16/21)
Kernel Version: Linux 4.4.294 #1 SMP Thu Dec 16 16:03:29 CET 2021 armv7l
Upgraded: DD-WRT v3.0-r47745M Community Build (12/04/21) via telnet (update via GUI not possible because nvram is placed on linux partition and not linux2 partition due to Xvortex CFE)
Reset: No, not this time
Configuration: AP, DHCP server, 2,4GHz wireless running, 5GHz running, some static leases and some port range forwarding, SFE on, NVRAM size 38K (NVRAM size should not be a problem with the Xvortex CFE)
WireGuard Client to Keepsolid with PBR running.
OpenVPN client to Keepsolid with PBR tested and working.
Status: Up and stable for 2 hours.
Errors: none so far

Status: Firmware uploaded fine and everything working. Removed VAP startup script and VAPs work perfectly. Physical Interface wl0 and Physical Interface wl1 will not connect.
EDIT: I mistakenly removed:
swconfig dev switch0 port 2 set pvid 1
swconfig dev switch0 set apply
From my startup script, once added back, all working fine !!!
lighttpd loads default configuration file instead of the one in USB. Rebooting router doesn't auto recover. After increasing sleep 30 to sleep 60 in entware startup script "sleep 30 ; /opt/etc/init.d/rc.unslung start" then lighttpd can start correctly. Probably because previously there was sleep 20 in VAP startup script which was placed before entware startup script. No time for futher experiment for now, need to go to work.

1. GUI: On 1024x768 with FF/IE, page and/or text seems bigger on std elegant style (theme is off). Right side is cut off by ~2cm on a native screen. Help/More is just not visible. FF is in default (100%) view. E.g. MTU on page IPv6 shows just '145'. A 2nd reboot may be requiredd to see this. This was OK in r47692, bad since r47822.
2. While IPv6 is enabled, it seems 'Fixed IP' for WAN doesn't work properly: wg-tunnel can't be established, but ntp gets the date&time. Switching back to WAN 'Disabled' is OK (with IPv6 enabled). Just noticed because now I have IPv4/6 dual stack. Not sure if any other settings on page IPv6 are required (tried some). Not sure if the is the same as reported by @PaulGo.
3. DD-WRT reboots on some changes after 'Apply' WITHOUT notifying the user. E.g.: enabling 'Fixed IP' for WAN from 'Disabled'. This pisses me off since SEVERAL builds. WHENEVER a reboot is required, user MUST be imformed immediately (if you are quick, it might be possible to switch to another tab and change something else, before the reboot is actually issued. --> Crap could be saved in NVRAM after pushing 'Apply' quickly).
4. Older issue for sure: In 'Switch config', LAN ports are swapped on the AC87U (4-3-2-1 left to right on the box -> 1-2-3-4 in DD-WRT) AND port 4 is shown green, as if some client is connected.
* clients in box-ports 4+3: DD-WRT shows 1+2+4 green/active
* clients in box ports 2+1: DD-WRT shows 3+4 green active
* clients in box-ports 3+2: DD-WRT shows 2+3+4 green/active
(1 client is the gateway, should not matter.) _________________ 3xBuffalo WLI-H4-D1300

Logs are clean on my end.
But WAN IF is disabled, also only a wireguard endpoint.
Will change routes here, to route all my devices through it.
Am going to report here if anything "strange" happens.

Mode/Status: Gateway/2.4GHz & 5GHz AP/Openvpn server/Wireguard server/DHCP server/DNS Server/Port forwarding/ipv4 & ipv6/CTF+FA
Issues/Errors: Yes (see below) and No (now that I finally got it to not bootloop)
First upgrade (without reset) from 47745 failed with a bootloop (let it loop for 3min before calling it quits)...
Clean flash of r47853 from stock using factory_to_ddwrt (after a serial console recovery to stock) failed with a bootloop (let it loop for 3min as I know the CTF & FA check causes at least one loop...)
Clean flash of r47745 from stock using factory_to_ddwrt (after a serial console recovery to stock) failed with a bootloop (let it loop for 3min as I know the CTF & FA check causes at least one loop...)
To get it up and running I had to:
1. Clean flash from stock to r46694 (last version I knew worked from stock as I used it back in august... don't know exactly what version starts the bootloop when flashing from stock)
2. Activate CTF + CTF&FA [not sure if this is mandatory or not... but I figured it could only help before next upgrade]
3. Upgrade to r47745 (without reset)
4. Restore my last settings backup of r47745 (dating from right before the first upgrade attempt)
5. Upgrade to r47853 without a glitch...
I'm getting this gut feeling that in the future I should reboot the router before trying to upgrade ddwrt... As that seems to me the only difference between the first (failed) and second (successfull) upgrade attempts...
