Hi guys. I ain't tech savvy.
I wanted to WoL (wake-on-lan) my pc remotely over the internet. It currently only works when I'm connected to the local network which is how I found out about WW-DRT.
The idea is to flash it to my router and send a magic packet to my pc through it.
It is a Nokia G-2425G-A router provided by my ISP (Airtel). It currently runs a GPON gateway. Made sure to take their permission before deciding to install a third party firmware.
I wanted to know if my router was compatible with DD-WRT and if so, what would it take to install it? Any help would be much appreciated. I hope I get this over with quickly :)

Welcome to the forum.

A good place to start reading about DDWRT are the forum guidelines with helpful pointers about how to research your router, where and what firmware to download, where and how to post and many other helpful tips:
https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=324087

The DDWRT supported devices database does not list your router as supported and usually means no support.

You can ask to put your ISP router in bridge mode and have a router of your own.

Other information I found (but I did not do a thorough search)

It will not see support in DD-WRT:

There are various points where you can see if your device will not be supported even if your router isn't listed here!
A router can not be supported by dd-wrt if:
  • it is based on a Texas Instruments (TI) chipset
  • it is based on a Marvell chipset not currently supported (Linksys WRT AC Series)
  • it is based on a Ubicom chipset
  • it is based on a Realtek chipset
  • it is based on a Broadcom 63xx chipset
  • it is based on a Trendchip chipset
  • it has <2MB flash
  • it has <4MB flash and is NOT Broadcom (any other supported vendor) based
  • it has <16MB RAM and is NOT Broadcom (any other supported vendor) based
  • it has an integrated modem (dd-wrt is router firmware and does not support the modem part)
  • it has VOIP ports (RJ-11)

Thanks for the response. I read somewhere that doing a bridge setup would half the speed of my internet. Is that true? I've a Tp-Link AC1200 Archer C6 mesh wifi router. Will it work with dd-wrt?

No we are talking about the ISP modem/router you are confusing it with a wireless bridge.

Should I replace the main router itself? The current router provided by my ISP has an optic fiber port which is why i had to install their router to begin :)

No you do not replace the ISP router but set it in bridge mode.
Your own router connected to the ISP router does all the work.

I find it interesting that I can't find direct information about the v1, but I would like to presume it is also an Atheros. But I wouldn't be surprised if it were MediaTek or Broadcom.

Thanks! If I enable the bridge mode and connect my router. I can later flash dd-wrt on my newly added router and hopefully wake on lan remotely right?

As I previously stated, the Archer C6/A6 is not currently supported by DD-WRT.

for my two euros worth, You better wait sitting down. Not only could that happen tomorrow or the next year or the next or never, but code maturity matters for stability and while some of it is shared code, not everything is, and yes, some companies will go to some lengths to firewall their code for some Kafkaesque method to disclise such source code you culd be looking at a long wait.

Take care now.
