WikiDevi Page (all chips listed, but I'm unable to verify as I don't want to open my router/void my warranty)
If there's any other information I can provide or any other way I could help, I'd be happy to, I'd love to get the features of dd-wrt that I'm so used to back again!

For the time being, no router with that wireless chip, QCA9980, is supported. Devs may require a donated unit for support. _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.

Thanks for catching that. Actually I had the subject wrong -- not the links. I own the C2300. (Though support for the C2600 is missing as well.) Does the same issue re: the wireless chip exist on my model?

No, support for the Netgear 8000P is coming, that uses the same chip. _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.

Awesome. So can I ask where things go from here slash how long it usually takes to support a new router like this if the chipset already has drivers, etc?
Is there anything else I can do to assist in the effort?
I couldn't even begin to estimate a timeline. Often about 6 months after the router is readily available, sometimes more, sometimes less.
Note, I said they, the devs, have started working on supporting the Netgear 8000P, it is not yet supported. _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.

I am also interested in running DD-WRT on C2300. It has a quite robust hardware at an affordable price. It would be a very good hardware platform to be supported by DD-WRT.

That might be a good start, but if there are any nuances as with other newer TP-Link devices, a fullflash dump from the device may be required. Thanks for the information. I cannot guarantee if or when support will be added. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

If this were to be supported, it would require using the kernel in stock firmware and we'd be lucky if the kernel could have any mainline CVE patches applied. I am taking the liberty to quote the email response I got from BrainSlayer here.
Quote:
this is a 64 bit broadcom device. i tried to port it. but failed. the broadcom sdk contains too much binary blobs which are not compatible with any mainline kernel but essential to get it working. broadcom must be punished by "no support at all"
