My hard drive failed on my pc router so I had to flash a new one. The mac address is the same but the activation won't work. I've done this before without issue.

Hmmm. It appears this may have been moved from the x86 forum quite unnecessarily as this pertains specifically to an x86 firmware install. Did you clear your browser cache?

@Cratebv212

https://dd-wrt.com/professional/activation/

Have you logged in and created a new activation key with the current system key?

Yes, I get a "No registrations left for ACTIVATION and device not known" when I click activate. It's the same mac address and nic as before.

And you only changed the hard drive?
Sounds a bit strange, because that should not be a problem.

In case that only the hard disk was changed you have to contact the support.

I'm going to reflash and start over. Like I said, this is the first. I'm going to remove the 4 port pci card also incase that caused an issue.

That was it. During boot it must have used one of the other ports first. I removed the 4 port switch from the pc and re installed and everything is fine.

this means your mac address has changed and nothing else. the mac address is part of the request code. so restore your hw configuration as it was before or write me a email. i cannot give you support with keys here in the forum

yes. the first mac address is used and this depends on the driver loading order. if you install a additional card which is loaded before the mac will change. in such a case you need to write us and explain what you did.

I should've thought of that first. I forgot I installed the 4 port switch since I last installed dd-wrt. I'll keep it on the checklist from now on. Thanks.
