Been tinkering today, tried DHCP on in PPPoE Dual - unfortunately wouldn't lease a WAN IP.
Then I tried to manually enable DNSMasq and DHCP Auth via the below commands as per suggestion.
nvram set auth_dnsmasq=1
nvram set dns_dnsmasq=1
nvram commit
reboot
These DID re-enable DNSMasq and DHCP Auth, and most things on the network started behaving as I would expect, although one or two hosts (Raspberry Pi, CCTV box) were still problematic - but, all in all a big improvement.
I have sourced a R7800 this evening for £50, and have spent a little while flashing it to DD-WRT, along with importing my configuration from my R9000.
So far, the R7800 is working perfectly in PPPoE mode, leased a WAN IP immediately, the problematic hosts mentioned above are working once more.
I'll probably keep my R7800 as my main router, as it seems to work perfectly. But I will also keep my R9000 for when the issues with PPPoE do get resolved, did BS get back to you kernel-panic69 ?
See attached screenshots which I took while testing on the R9000 earlier, PPPoE username is generic - so no need to blank it out.
