Thank you for locating the problem. I would hope though that a proper fix would be to upgrade dnsmasq to get the bug fix discussed later in that thread? An even better fix would be to determine why with these firmware versions my ATT Arris BGW210-700 detects and drops so many more invalid IP packets triggering the issue.

Can someone explain to me why no-resolv and server= cannot be used across the board? Does it break something else? I am not seeing this issue except when there is an absolute connectivity issue of some kind.

yep SS there is a (TR) dnsmasq-2.87test4.tar.gz but no (RC) release-candidates yet... although the bug is fixed..
i haven't tested how it goes with Stubby, as the spare servers are inside the yaml file that works with GetDNS..and DNSmasq is just a backbone, so stric-order is overridden by stubby dns architecture (round-robbin 1) _________________ Atheros

Entire file has 3689 lines. Number of lines in the file doesn't seem to matter; DNSMASQ dies when given a file with as little as 20 lines.
Any suggestions or troubleshooting tips are welcomed.
I flashed r47618 onto my new XR500 and I can't access the internet. I telnet into the router and I can ping other devices on the LAN just fine, but I can't ping well-known external servers like `1.1.1.1` or `8.8.8.8`.
I've reset to factory settings twice, even re-flashed using a `.bin` for r47618, no luck. Any tips?
Is there a better place for me to post? I'm happy to go somewhere else to ask for support if this isn't the place
I reset ISP modem, no dice. ISP instructed me to set to "Automatic - DHCP", which I did. These settings worked fine on my old router. I also plugged in my old router and copied the WAN IP address I used to have with that router and tried to configure a static WAN IP, still no luck.
I tried another reset of my modem, this time with the reset button instead of unplugging it and plugging it back in. Now I have an IP address and can access the internet!
