Hi!
I'm new here. My stock 3200acm has started acting up lately, loosing internet connection at random and slow speeds until reboot. I'm getting tired of this crap and now my question is, is 44715 stable on WRT3200ACM? I saw a review "sales ad" who promised that Tomato would work with the 3200acm but that do not seam to be the case.

Grateful for some help.
Best regards Daniel

44715 is the build on the router database; you shortcut yourself. The current release is 47656.

My troubleshooting steps would be . . .

I would first confirm that my current modem is working perfectly. Is it an old modem from my internet provider or my own purchased modem? If it's your own modem, how old is it? I had to replace my old 3.0 modems at about 5yrs of age but should have sooner due to failing performance. If the modem is provider issued can it be exchanged for a newer model at no cost? Providers often supply obsolete, older modems.

All cable connection are tight and no internet cables are close to electrical cords (coiled on top of the surge protector??) or damaged from age? Are the modem's router connection ports/cables in good condition?

Are the modem lights showing a good connection to your provider. Lights are usually solid and not blinking for the upstream/downstream. (varies by modem so read manual) My DOCSIS 3.0 and 3.1 modems show solid blue for full connection and blinking for a partial downstream or upstream connection. Partial connection are usually a provider issues but I detest dealing with my provider due to the escalation that follows.

When you loose connection rather than rebooting the router try rebooting the modem. If connection is re-establish the modem may be your problem? The only way I knew for sure that my modem performance was failing was the immediate performance increase I had when I physically replaced the modem. The slow deterioration was subtle but the new modems performance made my old modems lower performance obvious.

Once you are confident the modem is working as expected then turn you attention to the router. =)
