In layman's terms, the bottom line is that I need to continue running 44048 since my household members are all Apple users? I am not totally green to software talk and meaning but I am not familiar with the difficult stuff. So any workaround needs to be reasonably simple.

There are people running recent builds with Apple clients.

What is the latest build that's known to work with macOS and iOS?

I'm running 47618 on my 3200ACM and you can find screen shots of my wifi settings in the 47581 thread. I have a bunch of iphones running 14.8.1 and Macbooks running 11.6. I think the recent builds are worth a try.

For a usable GUI with certain browsers, set these two variables to 0 under administration-sysctl:

tcp_tw_recycle
tcp_tw_reuse

or via CLI:

nvram set net.ipv4.tcp_tw_recycle=0
nvram set net.ipv4.tcp_tw_reuse=0
nvram commit
nvram show | grep tcp_tw

Good luck. Report back on how it goes.

The only time my iphone gets hung up is when it roams into range of the 3200ACM, gets a marginal signal, and switches over. Sometimes it takes like 30 seconds for traffic to start flowing again, sometimes (rare) it just hangs up and I have to stop/start wifi on the iphone. However it's nowhere near the level of problems I had post 44048 where I could get my mac and iphone to hang every few minutes.

Well it didn't go greatly. I upgraded to the version available in the DDWRT download section for my router. It upgraded fine and everyone except those on macOS Monterey could could get on the internet. Those on Big Sur and iOS 15 had no problems. In addition, I could not get into the DDWRT GUI if I was trying on a Monterey device. I was able to get into the GUI on a Big Sur device and on a iOS 15 device; however, the GUI was slow and often unresponsive and always lost connection. Yes I did try setting the two variables to 0 using CLI. That apparently did not help.

I had no choice but to reset the router to default DDWRT and then downgrade. Fortunately I had 44048 and a backup taken earlier today both on a thumb drive. That made downgrading real simple. Everything is back to normal using 44048. I guess one day Apple users will be able to unchain ourselves from 44048.

"The version available in the download section" is quite vague. Please specify which version you tried. Was it 47618? https://ftp.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2021/11-05-2021-r47618/linksys-wrt32x/

I cannot seem to reproduce on Big Sur or Monterey on Marvell, Atheros, MediaTek or Broadcom.

I tried 47225. Also the Monterey device I'm using is the new M1 Pro. Maybe that was the culprit. The Big Sur device is an Intel iMac.

I coulnt find 47618. Now that you have posted a link, I might give it a shot later.

I am not currently supporting M1 devices because none of the software any clients use support it. Apple would've had a better run at offering AMD processors than going the route they did because now app developers have to port ARM support.

Ok I understand. No problem. I'll stay with 44048. The M1 works extremely well for my household because all of us are into music production, photography, and short film production. We find these machines are blazing fast and get the job done when comes to heavy multimedia.

Emanon: we also are an all Apple house with multiple iPads, iPhones, and MacOS devices and operations have been very stable on v3.0-r47608. All devices are on the most current OS levels. I will probably load the most recent code drop and try it as well later today. Running a WRT3200ACM along with a RE9000 extender.

I've recently upgraded from svn44048 to svn 47618 on 3 of my devices, but haven't given them a long enough test to know if the apple device issue remains, I haven't had any GUI issues thus far. I'll probbaly test it on anther device over the next week or so
