r7000 build 47510 I have 2 drives. Only peculiarity is sdb is formatted with no partition. At some random time I am getting the new mount for sda sda1, those mounts still exist but only sdc sdc1 have files.

Mount the disk as /opt and use that in the samba configuration.

I already have one mounted as /opt. I could mount the other one as /jffs. I would prefer to fix or understand the problem what ever it is.

I noticed that as well. DD-WRT always tried to mount the drive as a whole (e.g. /dev/sda, /dev/sdc). /dev/sda1 and /dev/sdc1 are partitions in the drives. However, partition tables, boot records and superblocks usually start at the beginning of the whole device. SO.... possibly an issue of device letters iteration!

It's weird but in the meantime, just tolerate it. Until the developers have the time and mood to look into it.... Smile

OTOH. remounting USB devices is not happening in my router. I will keep an eye on it ....

/dev/sdb/ is mounted as /mnt/sdb because there is no partition on the drive and the whole drive is formatted.

I haven't had the remounting again but another strange thing I remember is the drive had info that it was remounted as a share I had setup in proftpd. I strangely remember this being related to and happening to me before in an older build with proftpd.

Can't remember whether it applies to FAT/FAT32 drives (including floppies)... I don't remember mounting anything as /dev/sdX, but using fdisk and parted.

That script may no longer be necessary; Might be a good idea to try 47656 or 47665 first. https://svn.dd-wrt.com/changeset/47627

I just installed the latest build with no reset and it has fixed the ftp speed issue, yet to test long enough if the mount problem is fixed.
