usually the last is the best, as it contains all new security fixes, currently 47528
P.S. my 1043v2 works ok on 47528, it has the same SoC as Archer C7 v2, apart of Archer has an extra 5Ghz radio and a bit more flash size ram...and working RAM..
where Archer C7 v5 is totally different SoC to compare to its 'last ok build'...both C7 v2 and v5 are different... _________________ Atheros

Well, it seems that some folks are saying 46935 is the last "stable" build for the C7 (v5). Still not sure if it's a matter of wireless configuration or what.

Hi,
I've not updated my firmware in a long time, i'm running r33772.
Can someone recommend me which more recent version is working fine without problems?
Hello there.
Somewhat a loaded question, without problems is subjective as it depends on your setup.
I would first start with build r46935 suggested by Kernel-panic69, observing the upgrade methods.
Then setup for your purposes, what you need, I would start from scratch with such old builds you start from.
Now if you notice this works OK feel free to backup your nvram, then upgrade to the very latest (because security fixes are likely to be included), I suggest something newer than r47528 but by the time you tested the suggested build, one should be out anyway.
Well, it seems that some folks are saying 46935 is the last "stable" build for the C7 (v5). Still not sure if it's a matter of wireless configuration or what.
I've made a factory reset and the defaults are 24dBm (max 24dBm) for 2.4GHz and 16dBm (max 30dBm) for 5GHz. My logic for using 21 and 27 is "half power". Im upgrading to last build right now and let default TX power, and I'll be back with the results.
Well, kernel-panic69 I owe you a beer or a cup of coffee. It's working perfectly with default TX power. All other settings are the same as posted before (I allways make a backup with every single update so I can switch builds quickly in case of issues). Now, the question is why the 47xxx doesn't work with 27dBm (it shows 30dBm as max next to the check box). I test the power with "WiFi Analizer" for Android. At 2m distance the results are:
2.4GHz: 1m -36dBm
5GHz: 0m -41dBm
I seriously doubt the accuracy of these apps, but it's all I have. So, I should go and edit my post on 47528...
I can't believe I didn't try lowering TX power... Thank you again kernel-panic69.
Bad news... The problem is back. It keeps dropping the connection even with default TX power... Back to edit the 47xxx post... And back to 46935. Something is actually broken on 47xxx.

herkow im very curious witch model is your unit Archer C7 ???
As the OP is asking for C7 v2, both C7 v2 and A7 v5 have a different hardware...radios, switch & SoC, so those settings of yours and problems may be addressed only for v5, unless you state the opposite and you have C7 v2 too

My unit is a C7 V5 US. I know OP asked about V2 but as my post about build 46935 was mentioned I wanted to give as many details as possible to help solve the issues.

@Alozaros: They all use the same drivers. There may be or may not be different default settings, but essentially what is under the hood on the firmware side is the same. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

Try changing the Wireless Network Mode to "Mixed" rather than "AC/N Mixed". My Archer C7 V2 has worked flawlessly on build 47481 after I made that change.
Other wireless and security settings are as above.
