The WDR4900 V1 has a ppc architecture cpu.
uname -a shows:
Linux wdr4900 4.4.283 #2355 Fri Sep 24 02:33:32 +07 2021 ppc DD-WRT

Current firmware en kernel version:
Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r47481 std (09/24/21)
Kernel Version Linux 4.4.283 #2355 Fri Sep 24 02:33:32 +07 2021 ppc

I would like to install a mosquitto client on this router.

The dd-wrt entware wiki does not explain what to do for ppc devices. Only mips, mipsel and arm are explained.
Ipkg is present but doesn't work. Ipkg update and ipkg upgrade apparently do nothing.

Does entware for this router exist or do I have to use a different package manager?

AFAIK, there has never been an Optware or Entware for PPC: https://github.com/Entware/Entware/wiki Also, this device has always been considered "Atheros" because of wlan hardware.
