Does anyone have a working link for this file?

ddwrt-to-netgear-fw-R7500v2.bin

I can find many ... all from the same site ... all dead.

I am hesitant to try to make my own based on what instructions I have found.

Thanks

Create an account on myopenrouter.

https://www.myopenrouter.com/download/ddwrt-netgear-r7500v2bin

At least this should be one that was uploaded to their site and not a link.

if im not wrong you can use netgear tftp to directly upload the stock file,
at least it works ok on my R7000, R7800, R9000 ….google it tftp netgear
Cool

That is correct and is the way I have been doing it. I thought it would save a couple steps by just reverting using the revert file and GUI.

That wasn't the case as the revert file did not revert for me Sad

TFTP and the stock firmware does fine though Smile

Thanks

Hopefully, I have my setup kinks worked out now so probably won't be flashing back and forth anymore anyway.

At least now we know not to use that file; I honestly do not know if that was specific to <Kong> build reversion or what - or if it ever even worked. I presume flashing stock from DD-WRT webUI doesn't work in more recent builds?

It goes through the motions fine, but always reboots back to the dd-wrt login screen even with any combination of reset attempts - same thing happened with the linked revert file.

I didn't try it with a Kong build that I started out with, this was with v47474. The flash from GUI with stock did not work for me with the Kong build either.

Could well be operator error. I didn't try it more than once beings I had already figured out the tftp method.

Possibly not operator error; perhaps I was thinking of Marvell issue that was fixed regarding flashing back to stock from DD-WRT without a special file. Not sure why this is broken, it would be great if there was no need for any special procedures. But at least TFTP works without failure (unless you don't get the timing correct as some have trouble doing).

worked for me on tp-link wdr3600, using the latest r47495. downloaded Webrevert to Stock from router database. flashed from gui.

Apples and oranges. TP-Link is not Netgear.
