EXT4 filesystem is probably not supported on this device. To determine what filesystems are supported, you have to look under /lib/modules/(kernelversion)...
...also, please re-size your image to 768 pixels wide...

old build...update
for automount name must be either opt or jffs
otherwise mount it manually...
and use ext 2 or 3 format.. _________________ Atheros

In fact, this flash drive has ext3 (also tried ext2), but the router does not see it.
On newer versions, immediately after connecting, the router enters a reboot cycle and I cannot enter the web interface
stick has no partitions and you have formatted the whole drive?
Yes. But I now formatted it with partitions, no result. Router is rebooting infinitly
/dev/disk4 (external, physical):
#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
0: GUID_partition_scheme *4.0 GB disk4
1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk4s1
2: 3.8 GB disk4s2

but doesn't look right either or why is there an EFI partition?

I have not a clue why I was thinking /var/lib; post edited. You need to completely wipe that drive and / or format as ext4. It's not formatted, apparently. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

The ext4.ko module is backwards-compatible to EXT3 and EXT2, if I am not mistaken; it seems you are using Homebrew on a Mac to format the disk, and that is where you may be in error and why the UEFI partition is coming from. Best bet is to use an actual Linux PC. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"
