Repeater modes may not work on the R7000; I bootlooped my R7000P trying to do repeater modes. Also, we have not a clue what build of DD-WRT you're using. #wemustrepeat _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

hi... sorry for the wrong post and I will update the first
About the R7000 I know there some users that successfully put the R7000 in repeater mode using the guide. But unfortunately they dont have access to them.
I have the R7000 and the R6400v2 and I use them exactly for this purpose. The setting you're looking for is the "Repeater" mode. There is a document that explains this here: https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wlan_Repeater
There are 3 ways to set this up:
1: Use one router (your r7000) and have one of the channels (either your 2.4ghz or 5ghz radio) recieve the connection you want to repeat by setting that radio into repater mode, and the other radio into AP mode to re-broadcast the network. This works well but limits you to the max speed of 2.4ghz either on the backbone connection or on the AP connections. Essentially, take your 5ghz radio settings and match them exactly with the network you want to repeat, and set 5ghz wireless mode to "Repeater". Take the 2.4 ghz and set to whatever you want the repeated network to be called.
2. Same one router setup, but instead of using 2 channels, set up Repeater on 5ghz and then add a virtual AP on the 5ghz radio for the network you want to broadcast from your r7000. This is described in the wiki post I linked. The downside here is you're limited to half the bandwidth at any given time.
3. Requires 2 routers (with at least one on DD-WRT). This is the one I use

HI there... Ive try this option on 2.4ghz to ensure 100% compatible devices.... and maximum distance.... but as I say.. the last try... I have success repeat the wifi... but for example cant access router for backup settings.... (and yes I change computer IP)

can you export your backup?
Don't bother using dd wrt as a straight up repeater it's not stable, if it doesn't work you have to factory reset and start all over because all remote access is disabled, use repeater bridge instead. I spent a whole day screwing around with repeater mode, it would work for awhile then it wouldn't.

Don't give up on what you are trying to do as it can definitely be done. I have an R7000 set-up as a repeater bridge and it works perfectly ok.
Couple of suggestions:
Connect with an ethernet cable, reset the R7000 to defaults and then try to do it as a repeater bridge on WL0 (2.4ghz). Do not do anything else at this stage e.g. don't touch WL1 or add VAP's anywhere. Check that the repeater bridge is working by looking at the wireless tab within the status tab and see if you can connect to the internet. You need to get this bit working first before bothering with anything else.
Providing it is and you can then do WL1 (5ghz) as an access point with a totally different SSID and see if you can connect wirelessly to it. If that works then by all means add a VAP on WL0 again with a totally different SSID. If all goes to plan you will then see two wifi access points one being 2.4ghz and one being 5ghz.
Do the repeater bridge on WL0 not WL1 as this will probably work better due to the main router being some distance away. You may also need to reboot the main router at some point.
I have just pm'd you a backup of mine but I would suggest you ask the question on the forum about installing it on your R7000 as I do not know if it is safe for you to do so.
I have had your pm thanks and having read it I think your are expecting the R7000 to do DHCP which when in repeater bridge mode it doesn't as DHCP is handled by your main router and turned off on the R7000. This is probably why you are getting that 169. ip address.
For now just concentrate on getting the R7000 to work as a repeater bridge. Forget about adding VAP's etc until you have the repeater bridge working.
Read and follow the attached document as I think it will allow you to get the repeater bridge working. Once you have the repeater bridge working everything else will fall into place.
In your particular case your Gateway ip is 192.168.2.20 however the attachment you sent me was in Spanish and I am unsure if you are trying to bridge to a router or some kind of usb wi-fi adapter. The instructions attached will work if you are trying to connect to a router, they may not work if it is not a router you are trying to bridge with.
