I also still have Tplink Archer C9v1 with DD-WRT. I'm pretty sure that I would like to use the mesh feature for my wifi coverage. A few configuration I have in mind here:
(1) Fiber 1Gbps (passthrough) -> Archer C9 (handle all things DHCP, but not wifi) -> (Bridge mode) -> Velop Mesh for wifi.
(2) Fiber 1Gbps (passthrough) -> Velop Mesh (handle all things and wifi) -> (Bridge mode, switch) -> Archer C9 for extra lan ports.
Let me know what you think. Please feel free to suggest other configuration setups as well !!

I would use the C9 as your edgerouter connected to your ISP. Hopefully, there is a way to configure the Velop system without using your phone. The age of convenience seems to override good security practices. Do you have a large number of clients that are Wifi6 capable, though? _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"
