Some devices have region-specific firmware variations. But the "DD_BOARD" is the same regardless. Is there a way to detect the "region" for the board from the command line? wrote a script that downloads the correct firmware, but I'd like to make it more portable in case I upgrade to a new device and detect the right firmware automatically.

In addition to DD_BOARD, there are other "board" values But they are not English...
Code:

# nvram show | grep -i board

boardrev=0x1100
size: 30724 bytes (34812 left)
boardtype=0x0646
boardflags2=0x00000000
0:boardvendor=0x14E4
0:boardflags=0x00001000
boardflags=0x00000110
0:boardflags2=0x00100002
0:boardflags3=0x00000003
DD_BOARD=Asus RT-N18U
boardnum=00

Unless you upgrade firmware frequently, it's safer to manually update firmware watched with human eyes. Beta firmwares can go wrong. Same with Windows Update. Smile
