|
I'm redesigning my network and no longer require any of the Entware packages installed but don't want to wipe my entire router. I also want to remove the USB thumbdrive (/opt) to use elsewhere.
I've edited the startup script to remove Quote: | /opt/etc/init.d/rc.unslung start | but not sure if that, along with removing the USB drive, is sufficient.
Looking through the Entware installer script (generic.sh), the main things it does is run Quote: | /opt/bin/opkg install entware-opt | but opkg is a binary so I'm not sure what changes it's making to the system with that command.
Is it enough to just remove the startup line and unmount/remove the USB stick? Should I manually uninstall all installed packages first, using "opkg remove..."? Do I need to edit system variables, like PATH? |

entware is installed only on the USB, nothing is installed on the router side as its FS is read only... so..
-you can unmount USB and remove it
-or delete all entware startup related scripts and delete opt folder
-just format USB and use it as a storage... _________________ Atheros
