I apologize up front if this is a dumb question.
I have read that it is possible to increase internet/network speeds on a PC by using multiple ethernet connections at the same time. From what I've seen, "joining" the two connections on the PC side is pretty simple in Windows.
What is unclear to me is what is required for this to work outside of the PC.
Can two ethernet cables from the same DD-WRT installed Router to two ports on one PC speed it up? Or, can this only be done from a switch with bonding options?
On one hand, I have read about people doing this with multiple ISP services or multiple routers. But, on the other hand, I do see options for "Bonding" in the DD-WRT "Networking" section.
IF what I would like to do is possible from one router, can someone summarize how to use the Bonding settings? The wiki page I found on it was not very complete. It simply listed descriptions of the bonding types with no information about how to use the rest of the interface (ie. Add, etc).

A far as I know, DD-WRT doesn't support link aggregation on any device (nor does stock firmware!), and I didn't know that you could aggregate or bond on Windows non-server platforms with two network interfaces (because you cannot).
But, maybe they were trying something that is not possible?
Link aggregation is apparently possible from switches with that feature. However, it seems like it wouldn't have much benefit unless you extended increased aggregation to other machines or the router also.

I guess I wasn't thinking about bridging network adapters in Win10. That is and isn't bonding. But, feel free to try link aggregation in DD-WRT, if you want; last I knew, it didn't work whatsoever. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

Yes. I'm looking to learn how to configure this within DD-WRT as the wiki is a bit sparse and I haven't found a case from the forums that matches close enough to help.

Looks like it would be on a device that has ethtool included, and yep, I have not seen a successful use-case example in the past ~3 years I have been here. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"
