Hello, I have an internet speed connection of 50MB through a 2.4Ghz wireless connection.

I have setup my TPLink router as a repeater, following this tutorial: https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Repeater_Bridge#Qualcomm_Atheros

After all that, and setting the Channel back to "mixed", the internet of the VLAN is terrible. I'm only connecting one device as a test, and still can't get a good internet speed, the location of the physical modem is right next to the computer I'm testing and still the connection shows like this:

Here are pictures of my settings:

Let me know if there's anything else that would be relevant.
I know that the modem isn't the latest and best hardware around, but the drop in speed seems outstanding.
Thanks.

Yes, the relevant thing is, you used the router database and didn't read the generic installation wiki close enough, for one.

Hello,

One possibility is security. Wireless-N / Wireless-AC require Open (no password) or at least WPA2 + AES security. Otherwise you will not get N or AC speeds, only Wireless-G speeds, max 54Mib/s connection speed, not internet download speed.

I would enable WMM support on the Virtual AP. That is probably one issue. Also required for N / AC speeds.

I also second kernel's suggestion to upgrade as well.

Read ian5142 's post. Your basic settings are bad.
For n/ac WLAN connections WMM support enabled is mandatory (on all WLAN interfaces !), without you only get 54Mbit (g) connection.
Second for n/ac you need WPA2 (Personal) CCMP-128 AES encryption, don't try any other or multiple selections until speed is improved/ok.

You may need optimize a few settings after fixing the mandatory settings.
