Your router is not officially supported. Flashing an image for another device is completely at your own risk. 4MB flash Atheros devices will not have any kind of OpenVPN or Wireguard VPN included, if I am not mistaken. I have a TL-WR940Nv3, which is officially supported, and does not have anything you seek. All you will have is PPTP which is considered insecure and deprecated. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

The other thing to be aware of is VPN throughput. Using a VPN on any router is taxing on the CPU. A single-core CPU ~750MHz will only handle about ~30MB/s through a VPN. A router with a CPU under that is probably not even worth it.
This has been proven using TP-Link Archer C7, for example. That router does have support for OpenVPN and WireGuard (not sure about WireGuard).
In order to get ~100MB/s throughput through a VPN you need a dual-core router like a Netgear R7800 (dual-core, 1.4GHz). _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.

small correction single core CPU @720-750Mghz VPN max speed is 10Mbit...running chachapoly or even the lowest encryption 128GCM...
4MB flash size routers do not have VPN, as well some other useful services...
Those are only for a basic needs...! _________________ Atheros
