Our internet service goes out fairly regularly, and usually for days at a time (AT&T in West GA). As a result, I usually enable hot spot on a phone and then reconfigure DD-WRT as a client and join it to my hot spot. Boom, everyone is back on the internet, albeit a bit slower than with our regular internet (we get a whopping 2.6mbps on our internet connection, about 2.1mbps on the cell phone).

But, I then have to reconfigure everything back to the MODEM when they get around to fixing the latest problem. Then wash-rinse-repeat.

So you know what is coming, it'd be great to use dual WAN with failover, if one could be a hardwired MODEM and the other could be the hot spot on a phone.

Has anyone tried something like that? Any thoughts on how feasible (if at all) it would be.

Thanks for any input in advance.

No idea what router or build number. What kind of phone? This would be interesting to see, because the only dual wan failover situation I have seen is wired ethernet. Keep in mind these wikis are dated, so no telling if anything applies directly; YMMV.
