I haven't thought about this, since I was only following others' tutorials.
I believe jffs2 was just a ramdisk. You lose some memory as disk space.
Thanks, I need to re-partition my USB flash drive to stop using ramdisk as \jffs.
edit:
Wait.. maybe I was wrong. jffs2 is not using memory as RAMdisk, but NVRAM space?? More digging needed....
BTW, I now have /opt and /jffs auto-mounted using a USB flash drive. Both partitions are formatted mkfs.ext3!
It seemed that mkfs.ext4 was not functional... something like partial execution. I am not so sure. I used mkfs.ext3 anyway.
