Hello everyone,
I have a linksys EA9300 as my main router
I also have a Archer C7 V2 that i would like to install in my garage to extend wireless and also get wired connection. (wired is a must, i have a machine I'd like to connect to my network)
I'm not even sure if i'm using the right term saying "bridge"
My archer is using dd-wrt V3.0-r47074
I'm a bit confuse between all option : AP, client, client bridge, Adhoc, WDS Station, WDS Station (Mikrotik), WDS AP and mesh/802.11
From what i understand, i would need repeater bridge but i can't see this option.
Is it possible to do what i'm looking to do with my router? (getting wired and wifi extender connection on my second router) What option should i choose?
There is no native repeater or repeater bridge mode on Atheros.
Thank you for your reply.
Not even sure what that means, Atheros is the type of chip in my router right?
So it seems quite complicated for my limited knowledge with network. In short i would need to create a client then a vap?
What would be a good device to buy to do what i'm looking for then? Depending on price i might choose to just buy a new device. I already spend a few hours on this with no succes. If someone confident he can do this i'm willing to pay for live remote assistance.
Avoid Client Bridge, it is a software hack and often causes problems.
Follow the Wiki step by step. It says broadcom routers at the top but Client Mode is the same for Broadcom or Atheros. The only difference is the Advanced Wireless settings are on the same page for Atheros (Advanced tickbox) and a separate page for Broadcom.
Get that working first. Then I can help you with creating a VAP (Virtual Access Point). _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.

Some dd-wrt wiki pages are up to date, others are not. PM me if you find an old one.
