WRT1900ACSV2, currently running 44048,
Is it recommended that I perform a reset if I decided to upgrade to the current beta version

Thanks in advance

Just my personal view, but recently I found that after years of fighting with new builds including while I was r44048 that the best way to upgrade, at least periodically, is to reset both partitions and load in the desired new build to both. Kind of kills the idea of retaining a backup build in the opposite partition. Always I make sure the build will work on the first upgrade and if so then dump it into the alternate partition. Have been running great on all my routers since I started doing this.

Build r44048 is a year old. You can try to use existing config but if you do have problems you will know to reset.

WebGUI Firmware Upgrade "After flashing, reset to" always select "Don't reset" also ignore Factory Defaults tab.

Maybe hardware reset, likely unnecessary. Telnet as root, nvram erase && reboot to then manually reconfigure.

This is done after successful flash and reboot into a new build. If booting an older build consider the config dirty.

This is because nvram space is shared, so first backup a clean config before rebooting into any other firmwares.
