I am using a R6400 V2 router for dial in, with PPTP. Internet worked fine today. Unfortunately I updated DD-WRT to the newest version 46979 and I do not have Internet anymore.
I did an update with reset and copied all settings by entering them via GUI, as they were working before I did not restore a backup. DD-WRT dials in and an Internet IP is assigned to WAN. But this is lost every few minutes and gets replaced with the router IP 10.0.0.140, the modem IP is 10.0.0.138.
ppp0 gets Internet IP but vlan2 stays at 10.0.0.140 is that normal?
Could you help me getting normal operation back, please?
I think you should always reset after the update and not with it.
You can try restoring factory defaults then try again.
Yes, run ’nvram erase’ from command line and then ‘reboot’. Don’t use the reset option in the GUI. _________________ AC-68U rev. C1 on Build 47206

I'm check this problem. That's very often problem of low end router based on MIPS. Netgear WNR3500L v2, cheap Asus routers have that problem. After update to new builds all services works good (dns, ntp, switch, firewall, WAN is active too). Sometimes router have IP 0.0.0.0 / 0 for WAN port (DHCP service is working, I'm check that by ps command). Sometimes router have correct WAN IP, but internet is incorrect served. When I have session on SSH I can use DNS, ping, traceroute to external hosts). On workstations connected to router internet isn't available, but I don't know why. On workstations services like DNS, NTP, switch are available, but we can't use the internet. That look like firewall build some block on device. For tests I'm disable security options via GUI then execute command iptables -F, internet not working still. I'm tests that problem and I'm back to build 6/10/21. In my opinion it not depend of configuration stored on device.
