And threads like that are sometimes complete garbage, more often than not. The build release threads are usually where we want people to report and where we want people to read. We can't help it if folks (like you) do not flash and report in the build threads, or participate proactively in genearl. That thread is two years old, and those builds are full of security holes. Device wikis and threads on here are not the letter of the law when it comes to recommended builds; some are quite dated. If you aren't running a build from this year, then you are not supporting this project or community very well.
P.S. Windows 10 has been releasing distribution upgrades (feature updates!) every year since it's release. I don't think anyone just installs the first release and never updates it.
