I've started reading about DD-WRT before attempting to upgrade my first router, a Netgear R6400v1. EGC reported no errors with this router and 05/13/21 - r46640 here:
https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=329092&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=r6400&start=15

so I'm inclined to flash this version unless someone suggests otherwise. My priorities are stability and vpn support.

just use the last one... ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/

stability... it depends, from many things, mainly settings and clients compatibility, where VPN performance depends on CPU power...with my R7000 i get like 30Mbit over VPN..using chacha-poly...where R6400v1 has a slower CPU and you can expect a bit less VPN performance...

Usually any build reported working for Broadcom Northstar should work for all.

Broadcom Northstar are routers like NetGear R6400 v1 and v2 NetGear R7000, Asus AC68 and a lot more Smile

I am currently running running 46885 for both my R6400v1 and v2 (and R7800)
