On r46836 build? Was this after a complete reset (nvram erase / mtd erase nvram)? I thought 5 was no longer used for CPU port, I thought it was all changed to port 8? You should be able to do it all via the webUI now...

Yes, it was on the latest build.

No, it was not after a complete reset.

I will try using the webGUI after a reset.

I am taking a guess here on steps:
1. Switched Ports Tab - Tag WAN port checked, click save.
2. Change VLAN 3 to VLAN 35 on that page, check the box for WAN. Click Save.
3. Networking Tab - VLAN tagging, VLAN 35 tag number 35, Click Save. Then click Apply.

Sound about right?

That sounds like what I would try. The goal I think was to have everything in the webUI across the board so all devices could use it instead of startup scripts. I did notice some more commits related to this stuff in svn, so it might be still in process of getting fully fixed...

I have Bell FTTH in Ontario (I know you're in NS) and just removed the HH3000 by using a media converter and my TP-Link Router. I tried to use an older router with DD-WRT (Asus RT-N66U with build r46816) but I couldn't get it to work. There is a setting/requirement with Bell (in Ontario) to bind an 802.1Q tag to VLAN 35, and I couldn't see where to do that in DD-WRT (if that's even an option).
I'm not sure if this is what's stopping your router from connecting, but hope it helps.

Actually you should be able to do all the VLAN config in the GUI as of the latest build, r46885. Switch Config and Networking tabs under Setup.
