Downloads: (DD-WRT website) HTTPS & FTP (try another if a link does not work)

CLI Flash: 'cd /tmp' then 'wget {file URL}' (or 'curl -k {file URL} -o {file}') with http (not https) or ftp. Then 'write {file} linux'.

Repository: Trac SVN changelog since last build r46716 (r46723)(GitHub mirror)

Notes:
OpenVPN 2.5.2: Guides, Server, PBR, Reverse PBR, Client (see second post), Kill Switch, update tips, scripts and more.
WireGuard 1.0.20210219/Tools: Guides, Client, Server, Advanced, PBR, KS, update tips, scripts & more. Thanks BS & egc!
• CVE-2019-14899 VPN fix (applicability depends on VPN setup) and GUI toggle since r41813.
Experimental build option for Broadcom 8MB+ K2.x devices (limited currently): broadcom_K3X_mipsel32r1
• Broadcom MIPS devices are now on kernel 4.4. • Support added for TP-Link Archer C8 v2 and v3.
SmartDNSMiniDLNA • Unbound 1.13.1 • CoovaChilli 1.6 • Tor 0.4.5.8 • OpenSSL 1.1.1k • Dnsmasq 2.85 • Privoxy 3.0.32
In-kernel Samba (ksmbd 3.3.9+): default min/max versions changed. • WSD updateANTFS/NTFS3 kernel mode driver++.
• Added CTF (Cut Through Forwarding) and swconfig support to Broadcom devices.
CVE-2020-26147, CVE-2020-24586, CVE-2020-24587 & CVE-2020-24588 (Fragattack) fixed.

Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
DNScrypt 1.95 can still be used in the GUI, but v2 (not compatible) requires Golang and thus Entware. #6246
WDS does not work on Broadcom ARM devices (only MIPS<->MIPS) & bridge modes on k4.4 devices may sometimes work
in some configurations for certain builds but are not supported by the bcmdhd driver. Use client or repeater instead.
VAPs not working at boot fixed for unbridged VAPs in 40562 - 40566. Effective startup commands discussion thread is here.
If start-up scripts do not work from USB add a delay, e.g. wait script or 'sleep 25'.
Broadcom ARM devices if 5 GHz channels are missing, via Telnet/SSH: 'nvram set brcm_unlock=1' 'nvram commit' 'reboot'
Show us your findings with steps to reproduce, configuration, output, logs and important information below!

Important:
• For issues provide applicable info: 'dmesg', 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages', syslog, klog, serial, strace, tcpdump, wireshark etc.
• Any firewall NAT or WAN issues, show output: 'iptables -vnL', 'iptables -t nat -vnL', 'iptables -t mangle -vnL' and /tmp/.ipt file.
• Search SVN tickets & discuss in forum before opening. Before reporting: reset & manually set up, not restore from a backup.

Router/Version: Asus RT-N18U (rev. A1)
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r46733 std (05/21/21)
Kernel: Linux 4.4.268 #3143 Fri May 21 13:14:56 +07 2021 armv7l
Previous: DD-WRT v3.0-r45592 std (01/28/21)
Mode: WAN @ DHCP, Wireless @ AP
Status: Working (Not 24/7; Not using IPv6, VAP, VPN; Using NAS & USB; Unbound enabled)
Reset: NO reset during firmware upgrade but cold boot

Quick and dirty report this build:

Enabling CTF seemed to affect DDNS if not Port-Forwarding in NAT. Could not access my website via DDNS. Other than this, everything is working as usual.

BTW, if you wanna try CTF in Basic Setup, better cold boot your router after it rebooted once, or it might continue to reboot endlessly after hitting <Apply Settings>.

edit:

Does this apply to DD-WRT's Cut-Through Forwarding?

NAT Acceleration On or Off | Router Guide
https://routerguide.net/nat-acceleration-on-or-off/
Quote:
Potential NAT Acceleration Issues and Conflicts

NAT Acceleration, specifically the CTF Cut Through Forwarding portion can conflict with a few other common features. You should consider disable NAT acceleration or turn it to off if you experience any of the problems below.

QoS Restrictions

....

Port Forwarding Not Compatible

NAT Acceleration is reported to not be compatible with port forwarding feature. This means that when you have the NAT Acceleration, you will typically unable to host gaming sessions from your home. So you will not be able to host any game servers such as Minecraft, MMO, or First person shooters since players will not be able to connect to it.

IP Traffic Monitoring and Parental Control

...

Issues with Mirroring of Streaming Devices

...

edit 2:

Found an interesting ticket, which could be a solution, from Asus-Merlin firmware:

ctf: broke iptables POSTROUTING MASQUERADE · Issue #70 · RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.ng · GitHub
https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.ng/issues/70
Quote:

CTF bypasses parts of iptables, which is why manual port fowards won't work. This is a technical limitation of CTF.

For port forwards to work, you need to mark them so they will bypass CTF.

....

This rule can make packets forwarding to 192.168.1.* to bypass CTF.
Then POSTROUTING works normal.

Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination
MARK all -- 192.168.1.0/24 192.168.1.0/24 MARK xset 0x1/0x7

However, some other configs but port forwarding set this mark, I need to look up.

...

mark bit 1 is used for CTF bypass. Other bits are used for other things, such as QoS, NAT loopback, etc....

....

I also found an old DD-WRT thread from year 2014:

Hardware NAT acceleration in DD-WRT?

And another year 2014 thread about bcm_nat and its relationship with STP:

Testing VAPs with this build it's limited 1 VAP per Band. Currently with build r44483 I have 2 VAPs on 5Ghz Band at Off Site One. I made some changes to make this Build work. Still setting up this Test Build on a spare R7000...

Encountered something really strange.
First some background, this is as secondary router connected to the family router and just setup as standard gateway.
Now the weird part: after a reboot I could no longer access my router from my Ethernet connected PC (no GUI no Telnet) and had no internet, lights on the router were on and the router seemed working.

I searched for my paper-clip to reset which is on my desk, my desk computer is on the primary router and for a last chance before resetting I tried to login to the E2000 from the WAN (I had remote administration enabled) and I could login without a problem.

What happened:
While the E2000 rebooted the PC attached (Windows 10) had acquired an IP address from the primary router!
After renewing the IP address all was well.

So while rebooting the switch had a direct connection between WAN and LAN.
Maybe I just noticed this and it has been already there maybe an update in Windows makes my PC acquire an IP address very fast?

Anyway if you encounter a non reachable router after reboot check /renew the IP address of your LAN client Smile

Yes, I also encountered this anomaly while updating to this latest DD-WRT r46733 yesterday on both the Asus RT-N66U and TP-Link Archer C7 v2. Although, I didn't investigate the reason, but both routers required a cycling of the power in order for proper UI operation. Thanks for reporting your findings.

Router/Version: R7000
File/Kernel: DD-WRT v3.0-r46733 std (05/21/21)
Reset: Reset to defaults during GUI upgrade

After the reset, I only configured NAS share on 4TB drive (ext4) to test Samba.
Unfortunately, performance issue persists. Samba transfer between 4-7 MB/s using SMBv3 over gigabit ethernet wired connection. This is a show stopper for me, so reverted back to r41986, which gets ~32 MB/s.

Thanks all for the hard work!

Same issue not getting an IP address via DHCP on the WAN port (with MAC cloning) for my router, while r46442 works fine.

For my 3 access points, however, r46733 working fine (+Wireguard).
